Blogging is hard work. It isn’t just sitting down to write a few words here and there and carrying on with your day. There is a lot of strategizing, designing, and behind the scenes details that you must figure out.

When you spend hours upon hours working through those things, day after day, you will likely fall into a rut of burn out. Don’t worry we have all been there. The trick is to deal with it and move on!

4 Ways to Deal with Blogging Burn-Out

1. STOP!

Yes, I mean it. Just stop blogging. No, not forever! Stop for the day and take some time to look at what you are doing and where you are going.

Grab a piece of paper.

Write down your mission for your blog. Do you want to encourage other moms? Maybe you want to create helps for homeschoolers. You could be looking to create printables or curriculum that others will use.

Take the time to evaluate where you are and where you want to go. This will help you find your purpose and sense of self in the blogging world again!

2. Prioritize

Are you overwhelmed by all of the tasks that go along with blogging? Trust me, I have been there. Actually, not that long ago I had thought about throwing in the towel and walking away. After a talk with my husband about my priorities I decided it was better that I decide when and where I spend my time and build on those things.

Maybe you are looking to build page views. If so, your time is likely best spent writing quality content and sharing it on social media.

Are you looking to grow your online community? Spend some time working on scheduling posts on Facebook and Twitter. Respond to comments and show them you are there for them.

No matter what you are looking to do with your blog at this particular moment, remember you cannot do it all! Instead figure out what you can do and start there. Then build on it as you can.

Once you find your groove you will be able to hire help and really take a load off of yourself!

3. Get Help

I am not talking about hiring a psychiatrist. Even though at times you may feel like you may need one! No, I am talking about hiring a Virtual Assistant to help you with your load.

Take that prioritized list you made and select some things that you can delegate out. Then hire someone you can trust to help you with those tasks.

You wouldn’t believe what a help it is to have someone helping you with the details that you do not enjoy doing.

4. Make a to-do list!!!

Seriously! This is such a no-brainer but something people tend to overlook. Take some time at the beginning of each week to make a list of everything that you need to get done for your blog. Break it down and get to work.

The list may seem daunting but start small and just do the next thing.

Having a to-do list gives you focus and a sense of accomplishment. When you complete a task you get to mark it off and see that you are making progress. That progress will help that burn-out spark a new flame!

Do the next thing!!

No matter what you do to dig yourself out of burn-out, just get started. Do the next thing and move on.

You will see that after a few days of moving forward you will feel the burn-out going away. You will rediscover your love for your blog and your work.
