Blogging is hard work! You are working to grow your blog, spending precious hours to write posts, create images, and promote your content. Yet, you are finding that it is really difficult to market your blog alone.

You might not have a budget to hire someone to help you. You might have questions about technical aspects of blogging. You might be feeling like your wheels are spinning, but your blog is going nowhere. You might have run out of ideas, or even started to feel burned out.

Among the resources I count as my most valuable as a blogger, my blogging group is number one. After that, blogging courses and a library of helpful blogging books are my next most important investments in my blog.

Nobody understands your struggles like fellow bloggers, and they are your best support system! You speak a common language and want the same things from your blogs. Being part of a group of like-minded bloggers who want to see each other succeed is your number one source of effective networking!

5 Ways a Blogging Group Can Save Your Blog

Friendship: A blogging group offers encouragement, moral support, accountability, and a place to vent your frustrations. If you invest some time and effort into your blogging group, you will find that these colleagues will become your cheerleaders. Other bloggers with similar goals and aspirations are your main source of blogging encouragement and support. A good blogging group succeeds from its members’ successes.

Resources: Fellow bloggers are like having a ‘database’ of knowledge whenever you need it. You can ask for and receive technical tips, advice on getting started, content ideas, editing help, creating printables, getting your email list on the right track, changes in the social media world that affect bloggers, and much, much more. Experienced bloggers will have a lot to offer newbies, but everyone benefits from sharing their own expertise and tips they learn along the way.

Expansion of Your Social Reach: Blogging groups often have weekly sharing opportunities. You can add your blog and social media links for others to share, and reciprocate by sharing links added by other bloggers. This helps expand your reach to a wider audience, which in turn results in more readers, followers, and customers.

Engagement: A blogging group offers opportunities for collaboration. Some groups will host Instagram challenges, group giveaways, blog series, and guest posting. Sharing your knowledge through collaboration is mutually beneficial These opportunities will increase engagement on your posts by keeping your content fresh and exciting.

Help in Real Time: If you find yourself up late at night and you need help with a last-minute blog post you’re working on, a broken website plug-in, or really just about anything, chances are that another group member will be online and willing to help you out. Online friends from all different time zones are amazing resources!

Encouragement and shared knowledge make a blogger group your best resource for blog support and growth. Your blogging group will become your most effective source of networking. This is so true! I only started my blog about a month ago and after I joined a few blogging groups, I have been much happier! I don’t feel so alone in it all, and when I need help, everybody is willing to pitch in their 2-cents.

Oh so true! I have quite a few blogging groups I’ve joined and it’s great to have someone to bounce ideas off and to go to for help when I’m stuck with something technical. Pinned.

Blogging groups can be very helpful but they can also be very unhelpful. I find that I waste a lot of time on FB in general, and it’s very easy to procrastinate actually getting blogging done if you spend all day reading about blogging on FB. I also struggle with discouragement, because I’m not as far along as I should be. As valuable as groups are, it’s also a good idea to take a break from blogging advice frequently.
